So, growing up I was an avid reader of the teenvogue intern blog and thought I would copy its "meet so-so" blog entry. So here I go.

Age: 19
Hometown: Wellington, FL
School: University of Florida
Ever since "The Wedding Planner" I've always wanted to be a wedding planner. I had never been to a wedding so this new world was so intriguing. And J.Lo's lonely life was something I craved. She was organized, timely, fashion-forward--basically, everything I wanted to be when I was a grown up. My sister made fun of me because every time the movie was on I would be watching it. I was seriously in love.
Time passed and I forgot about my dream.
College time came and I had no idea what I wanted to do. I had been on yearbook for seven years so it's the only thing that came to mind that I could do for the rest of my life and be decent at. Then, though, in Intro to Journalism my one professor told us of the wary future of journalists and I quickly switched to PR--"The Hills" and "The City" made it look fun and from what I could tell planning parties was involved so it was the closet thing to me to wedding planning.
Shortly after, I found out UF actually had an event management major and I planned to double. My dream was finally going to happen. My sister said she knew it was coming and talked about my obsession with the movie yet again. I was super excited. Part of the major is a 15 credit internship. So, I thought I'd get ahead and apply for one in the Fall.
A month before school started I applied to two wedding planners. I got no response even after follow ups..Then, in October I tried again. Both responded. One already hired interns but the other was interviewing. Yes.
I was super nervous. I had been following wedding blogs all summer and fall and just hoped those would help.
The interview was fine. She ran late but I was willing to overlook it since I really, really wanted this. I brought up I followed her blog and she was pretty happy about that. She asked if I had one and I said no...but I got one soon after, obviously.
Two weeks later I got the acceptance letter and couldn't stop gushing about it to everyone.
I'm three weeks in and although it's all a learning process full of little tasks, but the weddings and events are soon to come. I don't know if this is what I'll do for my life but I'm really happy now doing it.
que sera sera
